To all the crazy, wonderful fans of Galavant, this album is for you. It was a labor of love to work on this series, giving birth to over 60 songs for 18 episodes. Glenn Slater and I wrote, demoed, presented, rewrote, re-demoed, re-presented, and on and on and on more than 62 times (counting unused songs). And, along with our fabulous music team, led by our musical director, Michael Kosarin, our engineer, Frank Wolf and our UK MD, Dave Moore, we progressed to arranging, teaching, adapting, orchestrating, vocal arranging, recording, mixing and mastering. I was chained to my studio, north of New York City, throughout the late spring, summer and early fall of 2014 and 2015. It was like musical basic training. And I loved it.

Working with Dan Fogelman, Kat Likkel, John Hoberg, Dawn Soler and an amazing group of writers, we dreamed up a crazy, hilarious journey for our medieval musical theater characters. Where Galavant goes from here is anyone’s guess. Will our heroes ride again? I certainly hope so. One thing I’ve learned from years of putting songs and musicals out into the world is that you never know.
